Innovations

We have introduced a safety and efficiency improvement scheme known as 'Innovations'. The scheme is driven by our HSEQ (health & safety) department and is designed to encourage our workforce to focus on best working practices and to put forward suggestions that could lead to an improvement in general safety and operational performance.

'In line with our core values, we promotes a culture of safety and quality in our operations. I feel that 'Innovations' reinforces this culture and I'm sure that in time many of the ideas will become standard practice throughout the contracting industry.'

David Morrison - Managing Director

Initiatives generated under the 'Innovations' scheme are communicated to the workforce via our monthly newsletter, posters located across our premises, and training programmes where necessary.

e-Capture

The acquisition, transfer and analysis of data is at the heart of all information management systems. The value and quality of data degrades over time. We have developed an e-Capture system to ensure that data captured on site is transmitted directly into our Information Management System (IMS2). Read more about our e-Capture system.

Red Hat

All new employees wear red hard hats on site so that existing employees can provide support and assistance. It's a simple but highly effective idea which reinforces our site safety culture. Dowload PDf here.

Towing Best Practice

Bullet point guidelines which highlight the safe way to tow trailers and compressors. Download a copy of the towing best practice guidelines by clicking here.

Aim for Zero!

Hitting and damaging existing utility pipes and cables whilst excavating is highly dangerous, disruptive for both site operatives and the general public, and expensive to rectify. 'Aim for Zero' has been designed to raise awareness of the implications of utility strikes and lists straightforward actions any operative can take to reduce the risk of a strike taking place.

Hand Tools

Basic induction on industry hand tools for all new employees, including office-based personnel. The objective is to minimise the potential for miscommunication and misunderstanding by ensuring all employees have a basic understanding of the key pieces of equipment used on site.

Plant and vehicle posters

Innovations is a scheme whereby best practice posters are clearly displayed, where practicable, on site plant and vehicles. The aim is to deliver the 'safety and culture' message into the heart of site operations.
